Chloe Ferry gets back to business after confusing us all with Wayne Lineker engagement and there’s no rock in sight

Chloe Ferry has had us all talking lately, after duping us all into thinking that she had randomly got engaged to her Celebs Go Dating co-star Wayne Lineker after what could have only been a secret, whirlwind romance.

Sure, Chloe and Wayne are great pals, but we definitely were not expecting to see Chloe posing with a huge rock on her finger and Wayne revealing ‘she said yes’.

The pair pretty much confused and baffled us all and just as we were beginning to process the new Mr and Mrs to-be, it came to light that they were, in fact, joking.

So much so, that Chloe was spotted without said huge rock on her finger as she brushed off the faux engagement and thew herself back into work.

The Geordie Shore star, 25, was spotted checking out the progress on her new shop in Newcastle, as she plans to expand her salon business.

Chloe already has a salon up and running near her home, offering a range of beauty treatments, but is reportedly searching for larger premises in order to make her current venture bigger and better than before.

She was seen flashing a smile as she arrived to her new location, all dolled up in jeans and a low-cut zip top, with a mask to hand.

Naturally, our eyes immediately zoomed into her left hand – y’know just in case the joke really is on us and Chloe really is engaged to Wayne – but her wedding finger was ring-free suggesting that the shock post was all just a bit of fun and nothing more.

Wayne and Chloe, who struck up a firm friendship while filming Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion during lockdown, set tongues wagging when Ibiza beach club owner Wayne shared a picture of himself and reality star Chloe all cuddled up.

She, of course, was wearing a giant ring and Wayne captioned the photo: ‘She said YES! Love you @chloegshore1 ??? ? #lol.’

Chloe commented saying that she ‘loved’ Wayne and Tom Zanetti, who starred on Celebs Go Dating with them, threw his name into the ring to be best man.

While it all looked like a joke at first glance, the confusion came when Wayne’s family members seemed to be congratulating him. Sean Lineker posted: ‘Congrats! Can’t believe we had to keep this secret for so long !! Xx’

Although, we should have known better as Wayne likes to tease his fans with the odd banter-filled post, including one he shared last year where he outlined his requirements for his next girlfriend.

Since then, Chloe has spoken out in defence of her pal Wayne – who previously dated ex-girlfriend Danielle Sandhu, 28, for four years – after he was inundated with ‘vile abuse’ online.

She slammed those calling Wayne – whose brother is former footballer Gary Lineker – a ‘paedophile’ and urged those using social media to realise the impact their comments can have.

‘Some of the stuff that I have had to read about him is disgusting. I can’t believe the stuff he is getting called. Paedophile is such a strong word to call someone, it is absolutely disgusting that he is getting called that when all his friends and family have to read that about him,’ Chloe said.

‘Wayne is one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life and he does not deserve the abuse and the awful words that are getting said about him.’

She stressed: ‘A lot of people don’t realise how seeing these comments can really sit with you as a person.’
