Chrissy Teigen has been given a book to help her tell her children about losing a sibling.

Chrissy and husband John Legend’s third child was tragically stillborn last year.

When the model was 20 weeks pregnant she suffered complications and was hospitalised due to excessive bleeding.

The couple later shared the news that they had lost their son, who they had called Jack.

She and John are also parents to two children; daughter Luna, four, and son Miles, two.

The 35-year-old was given the book Mommy Says I Have A Brother, written by author Stephany Resendes with illustrations by Kerry Bell.

The book is intended to help start a conversation with children about a sibling who has sadly died, as well as assist parents in talking about a child who is no longer there.

Chrissy posted a picture of the book on Instagram, revealing it was accompanied by a handwritten letter addressed to ‘Sweet baby Jack’s family’.

The letter begins: ‘Thank you for opening this book and allowing me to share a piece of my story with you’.

The Lip Sync Battle star recently marked what would have been Jack’s due date.

Alongside an Instagram photo of her sat at a table, she wrote: ‘Can smile all day but thinking of you on your due date, bug.’

Chrissy has previously said that the loss of her son ‘saved’ her.

‘[Loss] can be a beautiful thing, it was a transformative thing for me and in a way he really saved me because I don’t think that I would’ve discovered therapy and sobriety and this path of feeling good about myself and feeling like a new person’, Chrissy said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

She added: ‘Of course, you don’t ever imagine it happening to you, that was what the crazy part was for me, I was like, “I hear these stories about other people, this doesn’t happen to me.” So when it does, you’re just so shocked.’

The star thanked fans for the support she had received as she said: ‘You really don’t know the meaning of the word “unimaginable” until something like that happens to you.’
