Heavy fighting continues in the northern Gaza Strip as Israel encircles the area, despite increasingly pressing calls for a ceasefire. Between 15,000 and 20,000 people took shelter in hospital facilities, according to the health ministry in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip. The largest hospital in the Gaza Strip, al-Shifa, has become a ‘death zone’ days after Israeli forces stormed the facility, WHO has warned.

Israel gave the UN’s health agency one hour to look around the hospital: Signs of gunfire and shelling, patients ‘desperate’ to escape and a ‘mass grave’ were among what they saw.

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside Keir Starmer’s constituency office in north London calling for a ceasefire in Gaza yesterday.

Crowds blocked the road in Camden and chanted ‘Keir Starmer’s a wasteman’ and ‘from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’.

They weren’t alone. A day of national action saw more than 100 rallies across the UK coming after weeks of massive marches in central London.

Today, Palestinians once again woke up to shelling as the conflict entered its 43rd day, with experts estimating more than 15,000 Palestinians have been killed.

One hospital worker, despite the bloodshed he has seen, says ‘giving up is not an option’.
