Myka Stauffer has shocked the internet by ‘rehoming’ her son, Huxley after adopting him from China back in 2017.

The couple admitted in a recent video that he had ‘special needs that we weren’t aware of’.

Myka explained that Huxley is now with a ‘new forever family’, who she said were the ‘perfect’ match for him.

The couple have faced widespread backlash for their decision, especially after Myka’s Instagram posts in which she declared she would ‘never give up’ on Huxley.

However, for many, this is the first they’ve heard of the family YouTuber.

Myka began her YouTube channel back in 2014, sharing baby updates, stories about her and her husband’s relationship, and documenting her pregnancy.

Her most popular video, with 5.5. million views, is Huxley’s adoption video, followed by a baby bump update video, and then a cleaning routine.

She says of her YouTube channel: ‘Subscribe for new videos every week about mom life, organization, getting your home in order and everything in between. If you need inspiration and a friend to walk that journey with you, I’m pretty sure your in the right place!’

During her time on YouTube, she’s worked with brands including Big Lots, TJ Maxx and Danimals yoghurt.

The couple also share a channel, The Stauffer Life, which has more than 300,000 subscribers, while James’ channel, for car cleaning and detailing tips, has another 940,000 subscribers.

Videos about Huxley

Her first video about Huxley was in 2016, with Myka documenting her ‘China adoption journey’ in different parts.

After a 12-part series, Myka uploaded ‘Huxley’s EMOTIONAL adoption VIDEO!! GOTCHA DAY China adoption.’

She wrote in the video: ‘A little boy stole our hearts in China…You do the only sensible thing and go get HIM!’

Myka went on to create frequent updates on Huxley’s progress, before her recent video, which has been viewed more than 300,000 times.

She said in the video: There’s not an ounce of our body that doesn’t love Huxley with all of our being.

‘There wasn’t a minute that I didn’t try our hardest and I think what Jim is trying to say is that after multiple assessments, after multiple evaluations, numerous medical professionals have felt that he needed a different fit and that his medical needs, he needed more.’

Myka explained that Huxley was now with a ‘new forever family’, who she said were the ‘perfect’ match for him.
