SAS: Who Dares Wins star Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox has opened up about how the TV show saved him from a ‘dark place’ after he ‘struggled to find his identity’ when leaving the Royal Marines.

Jason has become a hit on the Channel 4 show, which puts members of the public through a test of physical and psychological resilience.

After taking part in the celebrity special, which saw Lauren Steadman and Locksmith crowned as the winners, Foxy opened up about his struggles after leaving the marines.

Speaking to Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson on ‘Quarantea with Thompson’ Foxy began: ‘I was a lost soul when I left, struggled to find my identity a little bit, I didn’t belong to anything and then the TV thing came about.

‘If you look at the majority of people in the TV world, compared to the majority of people in the military, they are opposite ends of the spectrum in there opinions and beliefs.’

‘Ultimately how they work as individuals, they are the same, they’re driven, got to be busy, a bit of a perfectionist to a certain degree, love to travel, you love to get about, love meeting new people and building relationships,’ he continued.

The former Special Forces Sergeant went on to explain how the show helped him through a tough time.

‘During the end of the first series, one of the directors came up and to me and was like “What do you think was saving you from that dark place you were in?”,’ he commented.
