Netflix to stream TV adaptation of South Korea’s sci-fi hit Snowpiercer

The $40 million feature wsa hailed by critics as a ‘wild whoosh of a ride’ Photo by Go Ah-Sung/Moviestore/Rex Netflix has purchased the international rights to Snowpiercer, a television series based on the immensely popular Korean blockbuster. The sci-fi drama features a host of award-winning actors, including Tony winner and Hamilton star Daveed Diggs and Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly. The post-apocalyptic feature is set after a second Ice Age and tells the story of a band of survivors who live in a train which circles the globe as they wade through social conflicts like class, child exploitation and food scarcity. TNT is developing the TV adaptation, and Netflix will be distributing the series outside of the US and China, Variety reports.
