Water ride explodes as fire tears through amusement park
Several buildings nearby have been evacuated.
Flames have engulfed one of the top amusement parks across Scandinavia, forcing the evacuation of multiple buildings.
Plumes of black smoke can be seen drifting over Goteberg, Sweden’s second-largest city, after the incident.
The fire spread across several yet-to-be-opened waterslides at Liseberg park, and police and fire officials could not immediately say whether there were any victims.
People in the area affected by the smokehave been urged to hide indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation, and listen to the local radio.
A nearby hotel and office facilities were evacuated, the park and police said. An explosion sent debris from buildings scattered over the burning waterslides.
