A new documentary that is set to expose horrifying details from survivors of Jeffrey Epstein is due to land on Netflix today.

Titled Filthy Rich, it features testimonials from some of those who encountered Epstein, who died in prison in August 2019 where he was facing 45 years behind bars after being accused of sex trafficking underage girls.

The documentary will also touch upon Epstein’s friendship with Prince Andrew, who came under the spotlight last year amid claims made about him by Virginia Giuffre, who has alleged she was one of Epstein’s victims.

As the documentary is released, just what did the Duke Of York say about her?

What has Prince Andrew said about meeting Virginia Giuffre?

Giuffre is one of 16 women who say they were abused by Epstein and has previously alleged in court documents that she was forced to have sex with the duke.

Prince Andrew has strongly denied Giuffre’s allegations, which were struck from the record and dismissed as ‘immaterial and impertinent’ by a US judge.

He addressed the claims in an interview with Emily Maitlis on Newsnight last November, when he spoke about his friendship with Epstein and was asked whether he had met Giuffre.

The duke said in the interview: ‘I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.’

Maitlis questioned the prince over Giuffre’s claims that ‘she met you in 2001, she says she dined with you, danced with you at Tramp Nightclub in London. She went on to have sex with you in a house in Belgravia’. Maitlis added: ‘You don’t remember meeting her?’, to which the duke replied: ‘No.’

He also said in the interview that in his continued friendship with Epstein he ‘let the side down’ for the Royal Family.

He said: ‘I stayed with him … and that’s the bit that … I kick myself for on a daily basis because it was not something that was becoming of a member of the royal family and we try and uphold the highest standards and practices and I let the side down, simple as that.’

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich is available to stream on Netflix UK from Wednesday 27 May.
