Updating viewers on his Instagram Stories, the YouTuber and fitness expert explained: ‘Great news. Bones have healed. Wires haven’t broke but the soft tissue is inflamed and possibly infected. They are operating today and removing the wires. They’ve given me some strong painkillers which have taken the edge off it’.
He subsequently shared a video of himself lying in a hospital bed, explaining: ‘They aren’t able to do the operation today, they have other patients in the queue, they’re a bit slower with certain things so I’m staying tonight. They’re going to give me some nice morphine, and some antibiotics on the drip-a-roo.
‘And in the morning, hopefully first thing, I’ll be getting the wires out. I tell you what this infection is no joke, I’ve had codeine up to my eyeballs.’
Joe didn’t let a fractured hand stop him from filming fitness sessions from his home, but now that he’s laid up in a hospital bed, there’s no telling yet when he’ll be able to share his next workout with us.
His last PE session aired just yesterday, and we saw him exercise dressed as a knight, while his adorable daughter Indie crashed the session dressed as a dragon.
He referenced his hand injury in the video, saying: ‘I actually got attacked by a dragon.
‘I got bitten on the hand, so I can’t really use this arm very well today. It’s swollen.’
He added: ‘But if that dragon comes back, I’m going to be prepared. I’m going to be ready! If you do see a dragon, let me know!’

On the subject of his hospital stay, the nation’s PE teacher also said: ‘They gave me liquid morphine, it ain’t taking the edge off it. It’s throbbing,’ before referring to himself as: ‘Throbbington Crusoe.’
He added: ‘So glad I’m staying here tonight. I woke up all night last night as it was throbbing and pulsating like liquid hot magma. Thanks for all your well wishes. Gonna get a good night’s sleep I think.’
