Arsenal in packed race for Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez
The full-back is attracting a lot of attention.
Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez, but they will face plenty of competition if they make a move to sign him.
However, due to competition for places at the Santiago Bernabeu, Gutierrez was allowed to move to Girona in 2022 and he has shone there since.
The full-back has already made 46 appearances for the Catalan club and is attracting a lot of attention, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that ‘several clubs’ are monitoring his progress.
Arsenal are among those clubs and are considering whether to make a move for the Spain Under-21 international in 2024, with the player under contract until 2027.
Real Madrid retain a sell-on clause in Gutierrez’s contract, so Girona will want a hefty price for one of their star men as they will not get all the transfer fee themselves.
The Gunners have long been admirers of Gutierrez, first being linked with a move for the full-back in 2021 when he made his first team debut for Real Madrid.
Los Blancos did not want to let him go then and when he moved to Girona, Arsenal looked elsewhere for a left-back in Oleksandr Zinchenko.
With Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares loaned out from Arsenal and seemingly out of contention to have futures at the club, the Gunners are looking at left-back options again.
