Babies evacuated from Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital for treatment cross border to Egypt – Israel news
The team saw a mass grave at the entrance of the hospital and was told more than 80 people were buried there.
Premature babies who were evacuated from Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital have arrived in Egypt through the Rafah crossing.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed its ambulance teams had left the Emirati hospital, transporting 28 infants, on Monday morning.
The Egyptian minister of health is reportedly at the El Arish airport, some 30 miles from the Gaza border, as part of the team receiving the newborns.
In total, 31 babies were moved from Al-Shifa this weekend after Israel’s days-long siege of the hospital.
It is not yet known if or when the other three will also be transported to Egypt for treatment.
This comes as fears mount that Israel is in the beginning stages of an onslaught of another hospital in northern Gaza.
Fierce fighting is ongoing at the Indonesian hospital, with at least a dozen people killed and more injured.
