Boy, 4, who tried to protect his young siblings in shed fire has died in hospital
'He will always be remembered as the heroic young boy who gave his life trying to protect his siblings.'
A four-year-old boy who desperately tried to shield his younger siblings from a devastating blaze before it killed both of them has died in hospital.
Isaac McGregor was playing in a garden shed in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday with his brother Saige, three, and 18-month-old sister Ashlynn when a couch caught on fire.
The children’s mum, Jasmine Beck, 26, attempted to rescue the youngsters, when she found Isaac using his body to shield his younger siblings from the blaze.
But sadly Saige and Ashlynn were pronounced dead at the scene.
Isaac was raced to Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, with his older sister Mavis, six.
Both children suffered life-threatening burns covering around 80% of their bodies.
An update on GoFundMe confirmed Isaac ‘grew his wings and reunited with his baby brother and sister’.
The update read: ‘He will always be remembered as the heroic young boy who gave his life trying to protect his siblings.
‘We thank everyone so much from the bottom of our hearts for all the donations and support. This community is absolutely incredible.’
Mavis remains in hospital.
