Claire Sweeney believes coronavirus has ‘been around longer than we’ve been told’.
The actress thinks she had the virus when she fell ill in January and experienced headaches, fever, a cough.
Her son Jaxon was also very ill around the same time with a ‘relentless hacking cough and temperature’.
Speaking on Tuesday’s Loose Women she explained: ‘I went to a walk in centre and they said, “we’ve never heard lungs that bad on a non smoker”. I got an x-ray.
‘It was horrendous. I said to my mum I’ve never felt anything like this before it just feels weird and different.
‘All my friends were laughing at me when I told them I’d had it, maybe I did maybe I didn’t.’
She went on: ‘I went into lockdown a week before the official lockdown, and you start to get used to what was going on around you.’
Claire hopes to test positive for antibodies and it would mean she ‘wasn’t being a drama queen’.
‘I was talking to another friend who was ill and they all said the same, that it wasn’t like a normal flu.’
Jaxon, who is in reception at school, and the rest of his year will not be returning to lessons when his school reopens.
Isolating at home with her son, the singer confessed she is struggling with homeschooling.
‘It’s going terrible. I’m rubbish,’ she told Andrea McLean, Brenda Edwards, Jane Moore and Gloria Hunniford.
‘I’m numerically dyslexic and this is a nightmare.’
