Manchester City forward Erling Haaland is set to be fit for his side’s mammoth clash against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Norwegian pulled out of international duty after injuring his ankle in a 2-0 friendly win against the Faroe Islands.

The injury was similar to one that forced Haaland off in a recent win against Bournemouth, when he was removed at half-time.

The forward’s hit his stride in recent weeks and scored twice in the 4-4 draw with Chelsea before the international break.

City take on rivals Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday, with just one point separating the two sides.

But the good news for City is that Haaland is winning his race to be fit, and should be available to start.

Haaland failed to score against Liverpool last season and he’ll be looking to rectify that at the Etihad.

Norway have failed to qualify for the European Championships, meaning Haaland is yet to play at an international tournament.
