Lyon manager Fabio Grosso was left bleeding from the head after Marseille fans attacked his team’s bus on the way to a Ligue 1 match on Sunday evening.

Rocks were thrown at the Lyon team bus, smashing windows and Grosso was cut by shards of glass as a result.

The Italian was seen bandaged and walking shortly afterwards but it was a significant cut that he suffered above his left eye.

Lyon were travelling to Marseille looking for their first league win of the season, having gone without a victory in their first nine Ligue 1 matches.

Defeat at home to Clermont last time out left them at the foot of the table and in desperate need to turn their form around.
