Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Kaoru Mitoma and James Milner will miss Brighton’s trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, while Pervis Estupinan is set for a ‘long time’ on the sidelines.

The Seagulls have been dealing with a long list of injuries in recent weeks and the international break does not seem to have a big help in recovering from the issues.

The good news from De Zerbi is that Lewis Dunk will be available for the trip to the City Ground, but it is not so positive elsewhere.

It was hoped that Mitoma would be fit after he was seen in training this week, but his manager confirmed he is not ready to play, neither is Milner, while Igor Julio is a doubt.

It is also going to be a ‘long time’ before Estupinan returns, with an ongoing muscle problem which has meant he has played just six Premier League games so far this season.

‘Mitoma and Milner can’t play, they are not available,’ said De Zerbi. ‘We will have to see with Igor.

‘We have too many injuries – I have lost count! Dunk is available, Estupinan isn’t – I think for a long time. Lamptey is better which is good news.’

Danny Welbeck, Solly March and Julio Enciso remain out, while Mahmoud Dahoud is suspended this weekend, although Tariq Lamptey is available to play some part in the game.

Jakub Moder is also expected to be involved, with De Zerbi saying: ‘Jakub will be on the bench tomorrow and I think he can play 20/25 minutes.

‘He’s different to our other midfielders and can be important. I want to give him a chance to play, he has the right personality.’
