Roy Keane highlights Christian Eriksen struggles and says Manchester United are ‘short in every aspect’ after Man City defeat
'They are short in every aspect of it technically, tactically.'
Pep Guardiola’s side delivered a dominant display at Old Trafford as two goals from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden’s tap-in from close range with 10 minutes remaining sealed the win for the Premier League champions.
The defeat is United’s fifth in the Premier League this season and the result leaves Erik ten Hag’s side eight points behind fourth-placed Liverpool after 10 games.
Former United captain Keane claims Ten Hag’s side ‘are short in every aspect’ after their defeat to City and says he is ‘worried’ by the team’s poor physical presence.
Asked if he wanted to see more from United, Keane said: ‘Yeah, of course.
‘Different levels, the pace they play at, they control the ball. City weren’t even at their best.
‘You saw it in the cup final at the end of last season, they’re just toying with United now. It’s different levels.
‘It’s almost… I wouldn’t say embarrassing, I do feel for the United players but listen, they are short in every aspect of it technically, tactically.
‘And worrying for me, physically, United look so off it, credit to Man City they’re an outstanding team. United… where do you start and where do you finish? Long way back for this team.’
When analysing City’s third goal Keane highlighted Eriksen in the build up after the United midfielder easily allowed Rodri to get a shot on goal.
‘United are gone there, look at Eriksen,’ Keane said.
‘That’s the worry for me, the physical side of the game from United.
‘I know the players have been run ragged and they’re tired in the season when you’re watching, but you can’t leave people walking past you.’
