Sergio Ramos will miss Sevilla’s Champions League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Spain legend, a four-time winner of the competition with Real Madrid, returned to his boyhood club this summer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, starting seven games this term.

The 37-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 defeat to the Gunners at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in late October, completing another game four days later in the 2-2 draw with Cadiz.

Ramos has since missed the Copa del Rey win over CD Quintanar and the weekend draw with Celta Vigo with a leg injury, an issue which has also ruled him out of the trip to north London.

Ramos has not been named in Sevilla’s travelling squad with goalkeeper Orjan Nyland and Marcos Acuna also missing out after failing to shake off injuries that ruled them out on Saturday.

Former Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj is another who will not feature having not been registered in Sevilla’s Champions League squad.

Sevilla, last year’s Europa League winners, are still looking for their first win in Europe this season having drawn to Lens and PSV Eindhoven before their defeat at home to Arsenal.

Arsenal meanwhile have won two of their three group games having lost away to Lens.

The Gunners have two injury concerns of their own heading into Wednesday’s game with Gabriel Jesus, who scored and assisted in the reverse fixture, set to miss out.

The Brazil international has missed his side’s last three games with Mikel Arteta revealing on Tuesday he will not be fit for midweek action.

Martin Odegaard is also a doubt.

The Norway international was an unused substitute in the 5-0 victory over Sheffield United and was also among the subs as Arsenal were dumped out of the Carabao Cup against West Ham United last week.

Odegaard missed the defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday after it was revealed he has been nursing a hip injury.
