Tips To Cure A College Party Hangover

Tips To Cure A College Party Hangover

If you’re a college student then you probably have had your fair share of crazy nights where you’ve woken up wondering how you got home. These kinds of nights go down in the memory books and are stories to tell your children, or not tell them… Unfortunately, what goes with nights like this are the painful headaches, blurred eyes, exhaustion and dehydration that make you wish you stayed home instead. What’s worse is when you need to go to class or do your assignments the next day and you can barely hear yourself think! Fortunately, with these home remedies, we’ll have you on your feet in no time!

Over The Counter Medicine

Anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin or ibuprofen can relieve headaches and the inflammation in the body that is caused by alcohol. Just be careful with this because these medicines can also irritate your stomach and using them for too long can create negative effects like stomach ulcers. Also, antacids can calm stomach acid and help reverse an upset stomach. They also can relieve nausea, heartburn, and indigestion, all of which are symptoms of drinking.

Water, Water, Water

Dehydration is one of the major causes of drinking alcohol so drinking enough afterward can help boost your body and relieve your symptoms. Even drinking a glass of water in between drinks can go a long way with preventing a hangover. You can also drink sports drinks that have electrolytes to help rehydrate the body.

Antioxidants

Oxidative stress occurs when the body produces free radicals, after drinking alcohol. To help with this, you may want to use antioxidants, which are contained in many different foods. These types of foods include berries, cherries, grapes, spinach, ginger, dark chocolate, and various nuts and seeds.

Coffee Or Tea

Caffeinated drinks are stimulants that can help reverse the fatigue caused by a hangover. Green tea, black tea, or coffee are great options to help with negative symptoms. Unfortunately, these drinks are diuretics, meaning they produce urine and can lead to even more dehydration.

Unfortunately, as much as we love drinking and wish we could avoid hangovers all together, this isn’t easily achieved. While these remedies can be extremely beneficial there is no actual cure for a hangover. In addition to these tips, you should also drink in moderation and make sure to get enough rest and water throughout the night! You don’t want to ruin a fun night with a bad hangover so just be mindful.
