Andre Onana claims the atmosphere at Anfield was ‘nothing’ during Manchester United’s goalless draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s side frustrated Jurgen Klopp’s men with a disciplined performance and managed to earn a point.

Liverpool were boosted by the opening of the expanded upper tier of the Anfield Road Stand, which meant 57,158 fans were inside the stadium for the game.

But when asked if he noticed the atmosphere created by Liverpool’s supporters at Anfield, Onana told MUTV: ‘Nothing.

‘I’m a Manchester United goalkeeper so you have to be ready for everything.

‘I’m used to playing big games with high intensity, so that’s why they brought me here.

‘It was a nice game for us to play. We face a very good opponent but we show we are good players. We are a big club. That’s why we are going back with the point.

‘Like I said, being Manchester United you must try to win every game.’

Onana also dismissed the suggestion that he delivered the ‘perfect’ goalkeeping performance at Anfield.

‘I will say no because the most important thing is the three points,’ Onana said.

‘You know when you come to Anfield, it will be great going back home with the three points. But like I said, if you have the clean sheet it’s good but the most important thing is to win the game.

‘It was a tough game of course, but being a part of this big club, you must win. We had some, not too many, chances but we couldn’t score.

‘So now, ahead of getting ready for the coming games, we have to look forward because it’s not enough. We have to do much more.’
