An urgent search has been launched after a British man with Alzheimers went missing while on holiday in Barcelona.

David Moore, 65, walked out of his hotel in Spain in the early hours of Sunday morning and he hasn’t been seen since.

He’s been on holiday with his wife Christine and their two friends Donna and Mark since April 2.

Their trip is the couple’s ‘last holiday’ together after David was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year.

His loved ones have been searching the streets ‘non stop’ since David, who is severely disabled, was spotted walking towards the harbour by hotel staff at around 4.30am.

Donna and Mark are meeting with local cops and the consulate in Barcelona today, and they’ve been printing out hundreds of flyers to aid the search.

David Moore, 65, is on holiday with his wife Christine, 60, and two friends Donna McCarron-Flynn, 55, and Mark Flynn, 56. But David mysteriously got out of bed and walked out of the hotel on his own at 4.30am on Sunday - and hasn't been seen since. The trip is David and Christine's 'last holiday' together after David was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2023, his friends say - the same year his son died.

They joined David and Christine as chaperones and carers to help support their friends during the trip.

Donna, a church pastor from Edinburgh, said: ‘David was unhappy and confused. He kept saying he wanted to get the bus home.

‘He seems obsessed with getting the bus and forgetting he was in a different country.

‘He is 6ft 2in, he shuffles his feet as he walks and hunches his shoulders. He uses his hands to hold onto buildings as he walks along the street.

‘When he walks David will sway a lot as he loses his balance – he walks like he is drunk.’

David was wearing a navy zip-up jacket, jeans, and grey trainers when he went missing.
