Former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs is set to become a dad for third time with his girlfriend Zara Charles.

The 50-year-old and his lingerie model partner, Charles, who have been in a relationship since 2021, are expecting their baby later this year.

Giggs is currently dad to Zach, 17, a midfielder for Sheffield United, and daughter Libby, 19, from his previous marriage to Stacey Cooke.

The ex-Wales international, who had an affair with his brother’s wife during his marriage, divorced in 2017.

Giggs and Charles, who has a daughter from a previous marriage, are said to be ‘thrilled’ by the news of their new born.

‘Ryan was nervous about what his kids would think but they’ve got to know Zara over the last few years and really like her,’ a source told The Sun.

‘They’re happy because they know he’s happy. But they’ve joked that he might struggle with the early mornings and lack of sleep.

‘Ryan and Zara are thrilled at the prospect of becoming parents again.

‘They have a very solid, loving relationship and are building a long-term future together.’

‘Stacey approves of Zara. Her and Ryan have been through a lot but they have moved on and she’s only interested in him being happy, because that makes him a good dad to their kids. There is no animosity.’

Giggs stepped down from his role as manager of Wales’ national team in June 2022 before his trial on charges of domestic violence.

The former Manchester United star, who denied all charges, faced a four-week trial after being accused of headbutting his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville during a row.

It was alleged the assault took place at his home in November 2020 after his partner confronted him for being unfaithful.

He was also accused of attacking Greville’s younger sister, Emma, during the same incident in Worsley, Greater Manchester.

The jury was discharged after failing to reach verdicts on any of the charges. A retrial was scheduled for July last year but was abandoned after charges were withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Last month, it was announced that Giggs has returned to the sport as director of football at Salford City.
