Frazer Clarke and Fabio Wardley fought out an incredible draw in a bruising British heavyweight title battle on Easter Sunday.

Wardley retains the British and Commonwealth belts after a thrilling fight at the O2 Arena.

Clarke, an Olympic bronze medal winner in Tokyo three years ago, led on the scorecards heading into the mid-rounds having bloodied Wardley’s nose in the second.

The momentum shifted in a thrilling fifth, however. Wardley landed a flurry of vicious shots, pursuing his opponent across the ring to inflict more damage with a stiff jab eventually sending the challenger to the canvas.

The champion piled on the pressure in the sixth, landing with a succession of straight jabs with a point deduction for a low blow in the seventh to pile on the pressure on Clarke.

Discovering his rhythm, Clarke continued finding his range with Wardley’s nose a bloody mess by the ninth round with vicious uppercuts doing the damage.

With the ring mat splattered with blood and Wardley’s right almost swollen shut, the champion fought back again in the 11th round with the two sharing an enthralling final stanza with both men out on their feet by the final bell.
