Israeli police said two Palestinians were behind the violence, but they were both killed by security forces and an armed civilian.
Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend the ceasefire in Gaza minutes before it was due to expire.
Negotiations on extending it for a second time came down to the wire, but Qatar, which has been acting as a mediator, said both parties signed off on another day of the temporary truce.
This means more hostages held in Gaza will be exchanged for Palestinians rotting – mostly without judicial process – in prions in Israel, giving some hope to families.
As all eyes were on the negotiations, two gunmen opened fire at a bust stop in Jerusalem during the morning rush hour, killing three people and injuring eight more, with five who are in serious condition.

‘Two terrorists arrived at the scene in a vehicle with firearms, they opened fire at civilians at the bus station and were subsequently neutralised by security forces and a nearby civilian,’ the police said.
