Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Casemiro are among a dozen Manchester United players who Sir Jim Ratcliffe will look to sell this summer.

Big changes have already been made in the Old Trafford boardroom since the arrival of minority owner Ratcliffe and his INEOS group at the end of the last year.

Jason Wilcox has been appointed as technical director, Omar Berrada is the new chief executive, while Dan Ashworth is set to arrive as the club’s first ever sporting director.

Now attention is turning to the players and coaching staff, with Erik ten Hag’s job on the line following a disappointing season full of underwhelming performances.

Regardless of whether the Dutchman stays or goes, Ratcliffe and co. are planning a mass clear out of the playing squad, as they look to get rid of underperforming stars, raise transfer funds and comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

The Mirror now reports that up to 12 players are on the chopping block, naming 11 of them.

Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial’s contracts are up in the summer and as per previous reports the new regime does not intend to renew them, while the option to make Sofyan Amrabat’s loan from Fiorentina permanent will not be taken up after a disastrous campaign.

Defenders Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and, perhaps surprisingly, Maguire, are on the transfer list, even with the England centre-back enjoying somewhat of a renaissance in 2023/24.

Casemiro, who Ratcliffe has previously cited as an example of United’s flawed transfer policy, is also up for sale alongside fellow midfielder Christian Eriksen.

United will also cut their losses on wingers Antony and Jadon Sancho, the latter currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund after publically falling out with Ten Hag.

But the most interesting name mentioned is Rashford who has endured a difficult campaign on and off the pitch, scoring just eight goals and being widely criticised for several disciplinary issues.

He has been tentatively linked with a £75million move to PSG, but the 26-year-old only last year signed a contract until 2028 which pockets him upwards of £300,000-a-week, which could complicate a sale.

Despite his poor form, the previous campaign showed that Rashford can deliver what is expected of him and his preference is to stay at his boyhood club.

The Mirror’s report also adds that Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund’s places at the club are safe.

Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, Alejandro Garnacho, Willie Kwambala and Mason Mount will also be retained.
