Arsenal’s home kit for the 2024/25 season has been leaked on line and there has been a major design change.

The new shirt is dominated by the north London club’s traditional red and white colours but includes blue stripes that run down the sleeves, similar to the design warn by the title-winning side of 1991.

Supporters are likely to be enthused, meanwhile, by the return of the a cannon, the club’s symbol, in place of the badge which has adorned their home shirts since 2002.

The white cannon, a reference to Arsenal’s early years when they were known as Dial Square, a Woolwich based munitions factory team, was part of the club’s current third shirt this season.

Arsenal are likely to release the shirt for sale next month and the first team could wear it for the first time during their final game of the current Premier League season against Everton.

Arsenal, meanwhile, will wear their current home kit at Molineux this evening against Wolves as they look to bounce back from successive defeats which threaten to derail their season.

Speaking ahead of the match, Mikel Arteta said: ‘I’m fully focused on the times that we have ahead of us with six games to go,” Mikel said in his pre-match press conference on Friday. “We are a game behind City and we’re going to give it a real go.

‘The context is clear. If we win we are top of the league. That’s the context, we don’t need anything else to be motivated or to go to that game with our minds clear and our purpose very, very clear.’

Asked for the message he has given to his players after a tough week of two defeats, Arteta added: ‘Fully behind them, thank you so much for the journey we are having together.

‘Thank you so much for being in April, the quarter-final of the Champions League and being so close, competing against the best team in the history of the Premier League and the best team in the last eight years in this competition with Liverpool and to be there with a chance to win it.’
