Vladimir Putin is having a bad week – actually one of the worst during his war in Ukraine as another one of his Su-34 fighter jet was shot down overnight.

This is the seventh military plane destroyed by Ukraine over the past week, the Air Force said in a statement on Telegram.

Such a rate of loss forthe Kremlin would be impossible to sustain if the success of Ukraine’s attacks continue.

Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said the aircraft’s crew was confirmed killed in the attack.

‘Minus one, we continue to work. We will eat the Russian bear in small pieces,’ she wrote.

Russia’s Su-34s are falling in numbers as the two-year anniversary of the full-scale invasion nears on Saturday.

The Soviet twin-engine, two-seat aircraft costs an estimated £40 million and has one of the most-high tech in the president’s arsenal.

Ukraine reportedly downed a Su-34 and a Su-35S plane on Monday, a Su-34 jet on Sunday as well as two Russian Su-34 fighter jets and another Russian Su-35 combat aircraft on Friday.

‘Russian planes continue to fall’ Ukraine’s defence ministry celebrated on Monday.

According to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russia has lost almost 340 planes since the beginning of the war.
