Pep Guardiola has confidently predicted Manchester City will overcome their recent wobble and win what would be an unprecedented fourth straight Premier League title.

The reigning champions have drawn their last three games against domestic opponents and had to come from 2-0 down to beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League a week ago.

Indeed, in their last four games City have conceded 10 goals, culminating in Sunday’s chaotic 3-3 draw against Tottenham where Guardiola’s side squandered the lead on two occasions and conceded a last minute equaliser.

Arsenal have the opportunity to move, temporarily at least, five points clear of City this evening with a win at Luton who have won just once at home all season.

Guardiola’s men, meanwhile, will be without suspended duo Jack Grealish and midfield linchpin Rodri against Aston Villa tomorrow night but regardless of the result there, the City boss is confident his side’s blip has been overstated.

‘I never use these situations – the motivation is just to try to do better, that is it,’ said Guardiola at his pre-match press conference.

‘I have learned that if you want to win something, you have to do it much better than your opponents. When you are level, that is not always going to happen (winning) so you have to do it much, much better – and this is what they have to do.

‘My feeling today is we are going to win the Premier League – if we play at the levels we did against Liverpool and Tottenham, we are going to win it again.

‘People don’t believe it after three draws but we are going to do it again. We know that it is not easy [winning four Premier League titles in a row], no team has done it yet, and that is why the difficulty is there.

‘But if you ask what I’m feeling, I want to do it again.’
