Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has appeared to commit his long-term future to the club after buying a £4million house in the north-east.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park, with the Magpies walking a financial fair play tightrope.

While the midfielder is a prized asset at the club, Eddie Howe’s side must cash in on a high profile squad member if they’re to free up cash for their transfer budget.

Guimaraes has a £100m release clause in his contract and, should a club trigger that, that would see Newcastle make a £60m profit on the midfielder.

That could significantly ease the club’s financial headroom but the Sun say the 26-year-old is not interested in leaving the club, despite interest from Arsenal.

The Brazil international has just bought a £4m mansion in the north-east and his family are settled in the area.

Mikel Arteta is huge admirer of Guimaraes and feels the Brazilian could add something different to Arsenal’s midfield.

Guimaraes was rewarded with a new contract last year, which saw his pay increase to £150,000-a-week.

He’s scored 14 goals and laid on 14 assists in 101 games for the Magpies, and he’s started all but one Premier League match this term.
