Passengers on board a Spirit Airlines flight from Atlanta to Newark were disgusted when liquid spilled from a plane bathroom mid-flight.

Footage captured by a passenger earlier this week showed the liquid streaming down the aisle, soaking the carpeting, as disgusted passengers looked on.

A witness said: ‘Passengers rushed to lift their belongings and feet as a river then rushed down the center, as the plane touched down.’

A Spirit Airlines spokesperson said the spillage was ‘clean, potable water’.

The issue was apparently with ‘a potable water line connected to a sink in the rear lavatory.’

They added: ‘Maintenance addressed the issue and cleared the aircraft to continue with its next scheduled flight.’

Last year, EasyJet passengers were furious when a passenger ‘pooed on the toilet floor’ -further delaying their already late flight.

Passengers were left stranded in Tenerife, with the pilot explaining: ‘Rather entertaining to defecate the front toilet so we’re now staying the night here, we’re now going to get everyone off… and organise hotels then we’ll fly back tomorrow morning.’

But easyJet admitted it was ‘unable to find hotel rooms in the area’, forcing customers to sort out their own last-minute accommodation for the night.

Another plane to Barcelona was forced to turn around after a passenger on board suffered a bout of diarrhoea that was declared a ‘biohazard’.

The Delta aircraft had already left Georgia and was above Virginia when the pilots decided to make an emergency landing after a traveller ‘had diarrhoea all the way through the plane’.

‘This is a biohazard issue,’ the pilot said to air traffic control, in a video shared on Twitter.
